Pages are copied as complete objects — fonts, images, vector graphics and page sizes come across exactly — so a mix of A4 and Letter, portrait and landscape, is fine. Add at least two files; the result is merged.pdf.
Bookmarks (the outline), document-level metadata and interactive form fields are not carried into the combined file: this is a page-level merge. If you need the merged document to stay fillable, fill the individual forms first, then merge. Encrypted files with only an owner password can be merged; files that need a password to open cannot.
